Overview

Certificate Management in AppViewX is a comprehensive solution that enables organizations to effectively monitor and manage all SSL/TLS certificates across their network. This includes certificates installed on application servers, web servers, and application delivery controllers (ADCs). SSL/TLS certificates and their corresponding keys play a crucial role in verifying the authenticity of websites and encrypting data transmitted to servers.

AppViewX's Certificate Management offers the following capabilities:
  1. Automatic Discovery: It automatically discovers all SSL/TLS certificates within the organization's network.
  2. Certificate Monitoring: It continuously monitors the validity of certificates and sends alerts via email or SNMP trap before they expire.
  3. Certificate Management Actions: It allows users to perform various certificate management actions such as creating new certificates, renewing certificates, and revoking certificates.
  4. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): It enables the creation of customized roles with selective actions on certificates, ensuring proper access control.
  5. Holistic Certificate Visibility: It provides a comprehensive view of certificates, offering complete information about each certificate.
  6. Policy-Driven Compliance Checks: It allows organizations to enforce policy-driven compliance checks and automate certificate enrollment actions, reducing the need for manual intervention.
  7. Migration to Recommended Standards: It supports the migration to recommended standards such as SHA-1 or SHA-2.

Once the server device is configured in AppViewX, all certificates will be synchronized with the AppViewX inventory. Users can perform various actions on certificates, ensuring efficient management and maintenance.
