Insights
The AppViewX CERT Insights module provides comprehensive visibility and analytics into the certificate infrastructure. It aggregates certificate data from across the enterprise, offering a centralized view that helps improve security posture, ensure compliance, and prevent outages from expired or rogue certificates.
The insights are derived from the data collected during the certificate discovery process, giving IT teams the information they need to manage machine identities effectively.
Key functionalities of the CERT Insights module:
- Comprehensive visibility: The module provides a single, unified view of all digital certificates across hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments. This includes detailed information on the certificate chain of trust, expiration dates, cryptographic standards, and deployment location.
- Security posture evaluation: It offers insights into cryptographic standards, such as cipher strength, hashing algorithms, and key sizes. This helps security teams identify weak or non-compliant certificates and take steps to improve their cryptographic posture.
- Crypto-agility and risk mitigation: By analyzing certificate standards, the module helps organizations become more "crypto-agile." This means they can quickly identify and replace outdated or weak certificates with stronger, updated standards, mitigating security risks before a breach occurs.
- Expiration monitoring: The insights dashboard provides continuous monitoring of all certificates, with proactive alerts for expiring certificates. This helps prevent application outages caused by an expired certificate.
- Compliance reporting: AppViewX generates detailed reports and logs for easy audits and compliance validation. Users can group certificates based on business use cases to streamline the auditing process.
- Threat detection: The analytics help detect unmanaged, rogue, and non-compliant certificates that can pose a significant security risk to the organization.
- Contextual insights: By discovering and mapping all network devices and applications, AppViewX can provide contextual information about a certificate. This includes its relationship with other objects in the network topology, enabling faster and more accurate troubleshooting.
